Hello and welcome to the University of York Dance Society website. I'm Sophie and I'm your Chair.
We would like to welcome any Freshers that will be joining us in October and hope that you get involved with the society. We run classes in Jazz, Tap, Salsa and Street. For which we have lots of performance opportunities. Look out for us at Freshers Fair!

With over eight hundred active members the University of York Dance Society is one of the largest and most popular societies on campus. As a very open and down to earth society we are passionate about dancing and having fun; our sole aim is to provide a good quality service to our members, and to encourage as many people as possible to come along and join in.

We offer weekly lessons in Street, Jazz, Salsa, and Tap. We also partake and perform at many local and campus events and are always on the look out for new performers and choreographers. We also hold beginner and advanced workshops to cater for all abilities. We enter Loughborough Dance competition every year and in February 2009 we were the winners in the tap category, we also came second in advanced hip hop in 2006. We look to cater for all levels and abilities, and provide a fun and good quality service to our members.
