Hey there dancers!! Welcome to the University of York Dance Society website. I’m Laura, and I am your Chair.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !! I hope you all had a fantastic break. We had a great Autumn term, winning awards in Durham Dance Fusion, and ending with the incredible Christmas Showcase. This term is set to be just as busy so make sure you are on the mailing list, and keep an eye on your emails so that you don’t miss anything!!

If you are new to Dancesoc, here’s a little summary of what we’ve got going on....
Dancesoc offers you weekly classes in Jazz, Salsa, Street, and Tap. These all have appropriate sessions for complete beginners, as well as an advanced class for those carrying on an old hobby. We also have weekly Breakdance classes, and Zumba classes ! Try them out and see what suits you best!

Aside from classes, we take part in numerous performance opportunities on and off campus, and also in inter-university competitions at home and away. We are constantly developing and inviting you do take part in more and more events, and you can do all this whilst meeting likeminded people, having a good time, and keeping fit !

If you have any questions, want to get involved, or just have a chat, feel free to approach committee in classes. For now though, do browse the website for info on committee members, videos and pictures, and info on class times and prices. You can also join our and our mailing list for emails on what’s going on in the Dancesoc calendar – including auditions, socials, and merch updates.
